Dinner at the Lawn Club!!!

So we made our way upstairs to the Lawn Club for dinner at 6pm - which is up on Deck 15 next to (you guessed it - the Lawn!)  The Lawn is a solstice-class ship feature, on all 5 ships - it's a real grass lawn that you can sit on if you wish - or lay out with beach towels!  Sometimes there are even lawn games you can play!
It was a beautiful evening, we were sailing out of St Thomas harbor just as the sun was setting so I got some nice photos.
Here's the interior of the restaurant just as you walk in - it's actually open air (they have some plastic sides they can roll down if it's rainy/windy/cold.

There were a few other people there when we arrived, but it didn't start to get busy until about 645pm

A view of the lawn with St Thomas in the background - they have these little alcove things you can rent (think like a beach cabana) for $99 on port days and $249 on sea days.  This ship and Reflection are the only 2 with the Alcoves.

The menu is pretty extensive - as with any of the specialty restaurants, you can order whatever you want since the charge is not per item but for the whole experience.  It was $45 per person, but we have a lot of onboard credit so we'll spend it!!!!  Can't take it with you.

Here's where they cook all the food - and if you want to be the chef, you can wash your hands and get over there to make your own pizza flatbread or grill your steak.  I chose to sit and watch someone else do it.  It's entertaining watching the chef show everyone how to roll out your flatbread, and toss it in the air!   I didn't see any land on the ground, but I can imagine it's happened!!!!

Just to prove Chris does actually travel with me, here's a photo (in a famous shirt!!!)

Here's our flatbread, it was half pepperoni and sausage and half BBQ chicken.  Both were pretty tasty!

for the main dish, I had a filet and some tandoori chicken skewer.  Chris had a New york steak and some chicken as well.  For sides, we got a baked potato, some creamed corn and baked beans.

Food was pretty good - the chicken was a bit dry and a little over-spiced, so I didn't eat a whole lot of it.  The steak was really good and the sides were spectacular.   That creamed corn was amazing (plus, it had bacon in it so how could that be bad??)

For dessert, a warm chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream, which I didn't take a photo of sadly.  But it was amazing.

Headed back down to see Cranston at Michael's club, work on the blog and then turned in for bed.  Tomorrow, St Maarten!!!!
