Grenada

So, today was a good day - we were docked at the lovely island of Grenada - which for you history buffs, is where the US invaded after a coup had murdered the prime minister in 1983.  According to what I read - we didn't want the Soviets having access to a 9000 foot long runway in the Caribbean, where they could land large airplanes.  So after the coup, we decided to invade, and then installed provisional government until democratic elections could be held.   Grenada's main export now is the spices nutmeg and mace, as well as allspice, cinnamon and cloves.  So it's known as the island of spice.  However, I was more interested in the pool, so that's what I did all day.  We did notice on the way down to dinner that the gingerbread houses were up!  They blocked the main staircase, which looks really cute.

Overall view on the right and the closer view on the left.  I think I saw some in the cafe upstairs as well, but the majority of the ones we saw are on those stairs

Dinner was at Luminae -  I had a mushroom consomme, which was really good, and then some beef shortribs, which were delish!   Chris had the french onion soup and chicken, which was also good!  Can't seem to have a bad meal here!

I don't know what's up with the weird sideways photo, but I'll work on fixing it later, as I'd like to get this uploaded!!!

And the chicken.

Dessert was awesome, a cheesecake and a nice chocolate tart.   Plus we had some excellent wine with dinner and a pretty coffee!!!

We headed back to Michael's club for some beverages and were entertained by Cranston, he likes to sing but sometimes doesn't know all the words, so he'll make some up.

That's all for today!  Tomorrow is Barbados and I predict we won't get off there either!!!!
