What time is it?

I'm not sure why I always book the red-eye flight - it always seems like a good idea (travel while you sleep!) but I seem to forget I DON'T SLEEP ON PLANES.  And there it is, 3am and I'm watching Crazy Rich Asians.

So - boarding was mostly a breeze, if a bit delayed due to a long preboard - but we (and the Timbers Army!) finally made it to out of PDX.  Doesn't everyone look thrilled at the gate?

We landed uneventfully in Atlanta - and of course, since we had 3.5 hours for a layover, the gates were only about 100 yards apart.
So what to do when all you want is a nap? - we got to utilize our Priority Pass membership and book one of the "minute suites" in the B concourse for free.  So THAT was awesome, I got to lay down with a pillow and a blanket in a dark room for an hour.  Fantastic!!!  I'm a new person!  Then off to the Delta lounge for a quick breakfast before we head to the gate.
Seriously, this was the shortest flight ever - or so it seemed because I FELL ASLEEP.  For at least an hour, and the flight is only about 90 minutes.

Off the plane, pick up the luggage and meet our friend Michael who will be taking us to his house for the night - it's nice to have friends!!!!   We stopped and dropped off our stuff, then went to a nearby restaurant for lunch (mmmm, french dip sandwich!!)   We had eaten at this place in July when we were here for DMB, and it did not disappoint this time either!

Ran a few errands, messed around at the house for a bit and then it was off to dinner (all about the food!) and we were trying to watch the Christmas ship parade as well.
Unfortunately, the parade was a little further away from the restaurant than expected so we couldn't see much, but the people watching was spectacular - it's the start of "the season" when all the snowbirds head south- and boy, they were out in force!!!!  Made for some entertainment and then back to the house.
How am I still awake?????
