Once we made it onboard to Luminae, it was time for some lunch! I had a heirloom tomato salad and Chris had the hamburger with fries. Both were quite good, and it was a nice way to unwind before muster drill, which was at 315pm. Since it was only about 230, we headed for our cabin all the way aft of the ship on deck 11 (with our 12 bottles of diet tonic in tow!)
Aft cabins are nice because you can look over the wake and see all the wake behind you - they also are usually the furthest from the elevators....here's the loooonnnngggg corridor we walk down when headed to our room. We are all the way down on the right.Made it to our room and started unpacking what we had with us to stow it away, and our cabin attendant stopped by to introduce himself - his name is Edgar. Yes, I'm not kidding, our cabin attendant has the same name as our cat. I have not yet told him this. After that - it's off to muster drill - now here's a tip for all you who haven't cruised before - NEVER GO EARLY. Wait until they start calling for everyone to go -the reason is, you won't get out any earlier as 3/4 of the ship can't find their way around, so they will all be late anyway. So may as well wait until they start calling for the drill before heading down there. Our muster station is in Blu restaurant on deck 5 (D1!) and they start by showing a video on hand washing.....and then the video on how the evacuation would work - which they've actually done a nice job with as it's kind of a James Bond spy thing - at least its entertaining to watch - then your section leader explains what will happen if it's a real emergency. All in all it only takes about 30 minutes, and then everyone is headed back out - so we climb 6 flights of stairs and head for our cabin, and lucky for us our luggage has shown up, so we can quickly finish unpacking and head downstairs for sailaway -scheduled for 430pm. Of course, because there are 5 ships in the harbor today, the captain announces that we won't be leaving until 530pm, so guess we'll miss the on deck portion because it will be pretty dark. We watch from our balcony
Bye bye Port Everglades! See you in 12 days!!!!

That corridor/hallway looks a lot like a Vegas hallway. And our room is ALWAYS at the end. lol!
